Book 3, Chapter 42
पप्रच्छ मातलिं प्रीत्या स चाप्येनममुवाच ह । एते सुकृतिन:ः पार्थ स्वेषु धिष्ण्येष्ववस्थिता:
papraccha mātaliṁ prītyā sa cāpy enam amuvāca ha | ete sukṛtinaḥ pārtha sveṣu dhiṣṇyeṣv avasthitāḥ ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana berkata: Dengan penuh kasih ia bertanya kepada Mātali, dan Mātali pun menjawabnya: “Wahai Pārtha, mereka ini ialah orang-orang yang bermerit, masing-masing menetap pada kedudukan syurgawi yang telah diperuntukkan baginya.”
