Shloka 29

न चाप्यधर्मे न सुहृद्विभेदने परस्वहारे परदारमर्शने । कदर्यभावे न रमेन्मन: सदा नृणां सदाख्यानमिदं विजानताम्‌,तथा जो लोग सदा इस मनोहर उपाख्यानको स्मरण रखेंगे; उनका मन अधर्ममें, सुहृदोंके भीतर फ़ूट डालनेमें, दूसरोंका धन हरनेमें, परस्त्रीगमनमें अथवा कृपणतामें कभी प्रवृत्त नहीं होगा

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

na cāpy adharme na suhṛd-vibhedane para-svahāre para-dāra-marśane |

kadarya-bhāve na ramen manaḥ sadā nṛṇāṃ sadākhyānam idaṃ vijānatām ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: Hendaklah hati orang yang benar-benar memahami dan sentiasa mengingati kisah yang sentiasa membawa tuah ini tidak sekali-kali bersenang pada perkara-perkara berikut—kezaliman (adharma), memecah-belahkan sahabat, merampas harta orang lain, mendekati isteri orang, atau tenggelam dalam sifat kedekut yang hina. Kerana bagi mereka yang terus-menerus mengingati naratif yang indah ini, hati tidak akan cenderung kepada kejahatan demikian.
