यथोपजोष॑ राजेन्द्र द्विजातिप्रवरस्यथ सा | प्रीतिमुत्पादयामास कन्यारत्नमनिन्दिता,राजेन्द्र! उस अनिन्द्य कन्यारत्न कुन्तीने उन श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्यणको उनकी रुचिके अनुसार सेवा करके अत्यन्त प्रसन्न कर लिया
yathopajoṣa rājendra dvijāti-pravarasya tha sā | prītim utpādayāmāsa kanyāratnam aninditā ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai raja yang terbaik, Kuntī—permata gadis yang tidak bercela—melayani brahmana terunggul di antara yang dua kali lahir itu menurut kehendak dan kesukaannya, lalu dengan demikian memperoleh keredaan dan kepuasan yang mendalam daripadanya.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic conduct through attentive service: true respect is shown by understanding another’s needs and serving without pride, thereby earning goodwill through virtue rather than force.
Vaiśampāyana describes how Kuntī, portrayed as blameless and exemplary, served a distinguished brāhmaṇa in a way that matched his preferences, and thus gained his sincere satisfaction—setting up the narrative consequences of that pleased relationship.
