वैशम्पायन उवाच
As a colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction; it signals the completion of a chapter centered on Pṛthā’s acquisition of a mantra, implicitly highlighting how sacred powers and divine gifts carry moral responsibility and far-reaching consequences within dharma.
The line functions as an editorial/narrative closure: it announces that the three-hundred-and-fifth chapter has concluded, situating it within Vana Parva, specifically the Kuṇḍalāharaṇa section, and identifying the chapter’s focus as Pṛthā (Kuntī) obtaining a mantra.
