तथेति रामस्तद् वारि प्रतिगृह्माभिसंस्कृतम् । चकार नेत्रयो: शौचं लक्ष्मणश्ष महामना:,“बहुत अच्छा” कहकर श्रीरामचन्द्रजीने वह अभिमन्त्रित जल ले लिया। फिर उन्होंने तथा महामना लक्ष्मणने भी उससे अपने दोनों नेत्र धोये
tatheti rāmas tad vāri pratigṛhya abhi-saṁskṛtam | cakāra netrayoḥ śaucaṁ lakṣmaṇaś ca mahāmanāḥ ||
Mārkaṇḍeya berkata: Sambil berkata, “Demikianlah,” Rāma menerima air yang telah disucikan dengan mantra. Lalu baginda membersihkan kedua-dua matanya dengannya; dan Lakṣmaṇa yang berhati luhur turut membasuh kedua-dua matanya dengan air yang sama.
