Kuntī’s Regulated Hospitality to a Brāhmaṇa Guest

Educational Q&A

The verse praises inner steadiness: even when physically assaulted with great force, the truly wise and heroic person remains unshaken, embodying self-mastery and courage rather than reactive fear.

A powerful figure is struck by a woman’s fast, fearsome mace-blow, yet he does not tremble; the simile of the Himalaya underscores his immovable composure amid violence.
