Guṇa-vibhāga and Prāṇa–Agni–Yoga Upadeśa (गुणविभाग तथा प्राण-अग्नि-योगोपदेश)

त्वया हि पृथिवी राजन्‌ रक्ष्यमाणा महात्मना । भविष्यति निरुद्धिग्ना नारण्यं गन्तुमहसि,राजन! आप-जैसे महात्मा राजासे सुरक्षित होकर ही यह पृथ्वी सर्वथा भयशून्य हो जायगी। अतः आप वनमें न जाइये

tvayā hi pṛthivī rājan rakṣyamāṇā mahātmanā | bhaviṣyati niruddvignā nāraṇyaṃ gantum arhasi rājan ||

Uttaṅka berkata: “Wahai Raja, apabila bumi ini dilindungi oleh tuanku—penguasa yang berhati luhur—ia akan menjadi benar-benar bebas daripada takut dan gelisah. Oleh itu, wahai Raja, janganlah tuanku berangkat ke rimba.”

Educational Q&A

A king’s foremost dharma is protection: when a righteous ruler safeguards the realm, society becomes fearless; abandoning that responsibility (e.g., withdrawing to the forest) is ethically improper when protection is needed.
