जम्मतुश्च॒ यथाकाममनुज्ञाप्य परस्परम् । ततो मनुर्महाराज यथोक्तं मत्स्यकेन ह,शत्रुदमन! वे दोनों एक-दूसरेसे विदा लेकर इच्छानुसार वहाँसे चले गये। महाराज! तदनन्तर मनु मत्स्यभगवान्के कथनानुसार सम्पूर्ण बीज लेकर एक सुन्दर नौकाद्वारा उत्ताल तरंगोंसे भरे हुए महासागरमें तैरने लगे
jagmatūś ca yathākāmam anujñāpya parasparam | tato manur mahārāja yathoktaṁ matsyakena ha śatrudamana |
Mārkaṇḍeya berkata: “Setelah saling mengizinkan dan berpisah menurut kehendak masing-masing, mereka pun berangkat. Kemudian, wahai raja agung, wahai penunduk musuh, Manu—menurut tepat seperti yang diperintahkan oleh Ikan itu—menghimpunkan segala benih dan bertolak dengan sebuah perahu yang indah, terapung di lautan besar yang menggelora dengan ombak menjulang.”
