Vajra-astra deployment
lokapāleṣu yāteṣu mām uvāca atha mātaliḥ | draṣṭum icchati śakras tvāṃ devarājo mahādyute ||
Setelah para penjaga alam telah beredar, Mātali pun berkata kepadaku: “Wahai yang perkasa lagi bersinar gemilang, Śakra—Indra, raja para dewa—ingin bertemu denganmu.”
The verse highlights the recognition of human excellence by divine authority: a virtuous and capable hero is summoned not for vanity, but for higher purposes aligned with dharma and the welfare of the worlds.
After the Lokapālas leave, Mātali—Indra’s charioteer—approaches Arjuna and conveys Indra’s invitation, indicating that Arjuna is about to enter a direct audience with the king of the gods.
