अध्याय १४९ — हनूमतो महद्रूपदर्शनं तथा धर्म-नीति-उपदेशः
Hanūmān’s Vast Form and Instruction on Dharma–Statecraft
तेन तस्याभवत् सख्यं राघवस्य महात्मन: । स हत्वा वालिन राज्ये सुग्रीवमभिषिक्तवान्,वहाँ सुग्रीवके साथ महात्मा श्रीरघुनाथजीकी मित्रता हो गयी। तब उन्होंने वालीको मारकर किष्किन्धाके राज्यपर सुग्रीवका अभिषेक कर दिया
tena tasyābhavat sakhyaṃ rāghavasya mahātmanaḥ | sa hatvā vālin rājye sugrīvam abhiṣiktavān |
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Melalui pertemuan itu, terjalinlah ikatan persahabatan antara Rāghava yang berhati besar dan Sugrīva. Sesudah itu, setelah menewaskan Vālin, Rāghava menobatkan (melakukan upacara pengurapan) Sugrīva sebagai raja atas negeri Kiṣkindhā—sebagai pemulihan hak yang wajar dan kewajipan persekutuan di hadapan kekuasaan yang zalim.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma in the form of restoring rightful rule through a pledged alliance: friendship (sakhya) creates obligations, and kingship is portrayed as legitimate when it protects order and corrects wrongful domination.
Vaiśampāyana recounts that Rāma (Rāghava) becomes friends with Sugrīva; then Rāma kills Vālin and installs Sugrīva as king over the realm (the Kiṣkindhā kingship episode).
