Gaṅgā-Tīrtha Darśana and the Prelude to the Yavakrīta–Indra Exemplum (लोमश-युधिष्ठिर संवादः)
महदौक्थ्यं गीयते साम चाग्रयं सम्यक् सोम: पीयते चात्र सत्रे शुचीन् भगान् प्रतिजगृहुश्न हृष्टा: साक्षाद् देवा जनकस्योत राज्ञ:,महाराज जनकके इस यज्ञमें उत्तम एवं महत्त्वपूर्ण और औक्थ्य- सामका गान किया जाता है, विधिपूर्वक सोमरसका पान हो रहा है, देवगण प्रत्यक्ष दर्शन देकर बड़े हर्षके साथ अपने-अपने पवित्र भाग ग्रहण कर रहे हैं
mahadāukthyaṃ gīyate sāma cāgryaṃ samyak somaḥ pīyate cātra satre śucīn bhagān pratijagṛhuś ca hṛṣṭāḥ sākṣād devā janakasyota rājñaḥ
Kahoḍa berkata: “Dalam sidang korban suci (satra) Raja Janaka ini, upacara Aukthya yang unggul dan besar sedang dilaksanakan, dan nyanyian Sāman yang teragung sedang dilagukan. Di sini Soma diminum menurut tertibnya. Para dewa sendiri menampakkan diri, lalu dengan sukacita menerima bahagian suci yang diperuntukkan bagi masing-masing.”
कहोड उवाच
The verse underscores ritual dharma: when a sacrifice is performed correctly (samyak), with proper chants and offerings, it becomes a meeting-point of human discipline and divine order—so much so that the gods are said to appear and accept their allotted shares. Ethical emphasis falls on correctness, purity, and faithful execution of duty.
Kahoda describes King Janaka’s ongoing sacrificial session: the principal Sāman chants are being sung, Soma is being ritually consumed, and the gods—pleased—are portrayed as visibly present, receiving their pure portions of the offerings.
