Kirmīra-rākṣasa-saṃgamaḥ (Encounter and Slaying of Kirmīra) | किर्मीरेण सह भीमसेनसमागमः
इष्टवांस्त्वं महासत्रं कृष्ण चैत्ररथे वने । नैवं परे नापरे वा करिष्यन्ति कृतानि वा
iṣṭavāṁs tvaṁ mahāsatraṁ kṛṣṇa caitrarathe vane | naivaṁ pare nāpare vā kariṣyanti kṛtāni vā ||
Arjuna berkata: “Wahai Kṛṣṇa, di rimba Caitraratha engkau telah melaksanakan suatu mahāsatra, sesi korban suci yang agung. Tiada yang terdahulu mahupun yang terkemudian akan menyamai perbuatan seperti ini.”
अजुन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical ideal of extraordinary, dharma-aligned action: truly great deeds—especially those connected with sacrifice, worship, and the welfare-ordering power of yajña—become standards that later generations recognize as unsurpassed.
Arjuna addresses Kṛṣṇa and extols him for having performed a ‘mahāsatra’ in the Caitraratha forest, declaring that such accomplishments are unparalleled—neither in the past nor in the future.
