Kirmīra-rākṣasa-saṃgamaḥ (Encounter and Slaying of Kirmīra) | किर्मीरेण सह भीमसेनसमागमः
जारूथ्यामाहुति: क्राथ: शिशुपालो जनै: सह । जरासंधश्ष शैब्यक्ष शतधन्वा च निर्जित:,भगवन्! आपने जारूथी नगरीमें आहुति, क्राथ, साथियोंसहित शिशुपाल, जरासंध, शैब्य और शतधन्वाको परास्त किया
jārūthyām āhutiḥ krāthaḥ śiśupālo janaiḥ saha | jarāsandhaś ca śaibyaś ca śatadhanvā ca nirjitaḥ, bhagavan |
Arjuna berkata: “Wahai Tuhan Yang Mulia! Di kota Jārūthī engkau telah menewaskan Āhuti dan Krātha; engkau juga menundukkan Śiśupāla bersama para pengikutnya; demikian pula Jarāsandha, Śaibya, dan Śatadhanvan telah engkau kalahkan.”
अजुन उवाच
The verse highlights the dharmic ideal of righteous strength: a great leader’s power is measured not merely by victory, but by the capacity to restrain disruptive rulers and protect order. It also underscores the ethical weight of fame—renown is grounded in actions that restore stability.
Arjuna addresses a revered figure (“Bhagavan”) and recalls a sequence of past victories: in Jārūthī, several notable kings/warriors—Āhuti, Krātha, Śiśupāla with his supporters, Jarāsandha, Śaibya, and Śatadhanvan—are said to have been defeated/subdued.
