Kirmīra-rākṣasa-saṃgamaḥ (Encounter and Slaying of Kirmīra) | किर्मीरेण सह भीमसेनसमागमः

ये मां विप्रकृतां क्षुद्रैरुपेक्षध्व॑ं विशोकवत्‌ | नच मे शाम्यते दुःखं कर्णो यत्‌ प्राहसत्‌ तदा,“क्योंकि आप सब लोग, नीच मनुष्योंद्वारा जो मेरा अपमान हुआ था, उसकी उपेक्षा कर रहे हैं, मानो इसके लिये आपके हृदयमें तनिक भी दुःख नहीं है। उस समय कर्णने जो मेरी हँसी उड़ायी थी, उससे उत्पन्न हुआ दुःख मेरे हृदयसे दूर नहीं होता है

ye māṁ viprakṛtāṁ kṣudrair upekṣadhvaṁ viśokavat | na ca me śāmyate duḥkhaṁ karṇo yat prāhasat tadā ||

Rākṣasī itu berkata: “Kamu semua memandang ringan penghinaan yang dilakukan orang-orang hina terhadapku, seolah-olah tiada sedikit pun dukacita di hatimu. Dan pedih di dalam diriku tidak juga reda—kerana pada waktu itu Karṇa telah memperolok-olokkanku.”
