Vidura berkata: Lalu Kirmīra menegurnya, “Dengan tuah yang baik, para dewa pada hari ini telah menjadikan di sini terlaksana hasrat yang sekian lama terpendam di hatiku.”
विदुर उवाच
The verse highlights the idea of diṣṭi (providence/fate) as a force that can bring long-held intentions to fruition; ethically, it also foreshadows how individuals may interpret ‘divine favor’ to justify harmful desires, reminding the listener to discern dharma from mere success.
Vidura narrates that Kirmīra speaks to the person before him (contextually Yudhiṣṭhira), claiming that the gods have, by good fortune, arranged the fulfillment of Kirmīra’s long-cherished wish—setting the stage for Kirmīra’s hostile intent.
