(Sagara-Upākhyāna): Śiva’s boon and the extraordinary birth of Sagara’s progeny
tridaśānāṁ vacaḥ śrutvā tatheti munir atravīt | kariṣye bhavatāṁ kāmaṁ lokānāṁ ca mahat sukham ||
Mendengar kata-kata para dewa, sang resi menjawab: “Demikianlah.”
A righteous person’s power is shown in consenting to act for the welfare of all: fulfilling a legitimate request is framed not as private gain but as ‘mahat sukham’—great well-being for the worlds.
Lomaśa narrates that, after hearing the devas’ request, the sage agrees (“tatheti”) and promises to carry out what they desire, emphasizing that the outcome will benefit the worlds.
