अध्याय ८२ — केशवप्रयाणे निमित्तदर्शनम्
Omens and Reception During Keśava’s Departure
त्वया धर्मार्थियुक्तं चेदुक्ते शिवमनामयम् | हित॑ नादास्यते बालो दिष्टस्य वशमेष्यति
tvayā dharmārthiyuktaṃ ced ukte śivam anāmayam | hitaṃ nādāsyate bālo diṣṭasya vaśam eṣyati ||
Arjuna berkata: “Walaupun engkau mengucapkan kata-kata yang selaras dengan dharma dan bertujuan demi kebajikan sejati—kata-kata yang membawa tuah dan bebas daripada mudarat—orang yang kebudak-budakan tidak akan menerima nasihat yang baik itu. Sebaliknya dia akan tunduk di bawah kuasa takdir.”
अजुन उवाच
Right counsel—even when ethical, beneficial, and harmless—may fail if the listener is immature or obstinate; such a person becomes driven by “diṣṭa” (what is fated/ordained) rather than by discernment.
Arjuna comments on the limits of persuasion: he observes that a “bāla” (foolish person) will not accept wholesome, dharma-aligned advice and will instead proceed along a destiny-driven course.
