Educational Q&A

The verse counsels emotional restraint: do not be consumed by anger in adversity, because events unfold under a stronger ordering principle (vidhi), and present suffering may ripen into future good.

Śalya addresses a warrior as “vīra,” offering reassurance and counsel amid distress, urging him to set aside wrath and accept that the course of events is governed by destiny, with the promise that hardship can culminate in happiness.
