Educational Q&A

The verse presents Bhīma’s resolve to punish those deemed ātātāyins—aggressors against the Pāṇḍavas—suggesting that force in war is framed as dharmic when directed against grave wrongdoing, though it also exposes the intensity and potential excess of martial anger.

In the Udyoga Parva’s war-preparation context, Bhīmasena speaks fiercely, proclaiming that he will throw down and trample the hostile warriors who have taken up arms against the Pāṇḍavas, signaling his readiness for the coming conflict.
