हंस–साध्यसंवादः, वाक्-निग्रहः, महाकुल-लक्षणम्, शान्ति-उपायः

उत्पाद्य पुत्राननृणां श्व कृत्वा वृत्तिं च तेभ्योडनुविधाय कांचित्‌ । स्थाने कुमारी: प्रतिपाद्य सर्वा अरण्यसंस्थो<थ मुनिर्बुभूषेत्‌,पुत्रोंको उत्पन्न कर उन्हें ऋणके भारसे मुक्त करके उनके लिये किसी जीविकाका प्रबन्ध कर दे; अपनी सभी कन्याओंका योग्य वरके साथ विवाह कर दे तत्पश्चात्‌ वनमें मुनिवृत्तिसे रहनेकी इच्छा करे

utpādya putrān anṛṇāṁś ca kṛtvā vṛttiṁ ca tebhyo 'nuvadhāya kāñcit | sthāne kumārīḥ pratipādya sarvā araṇya-saṁstho 'tha munir bubhūṣet ||

Vidura berkata: Setelah memperoleh anak-anak lelaki, membebaskan mereka daripada beban hutang, serta mengatur bagi mereka suatu mata pencarian yang sesuai; setelah mengahwinkan semua anak perempuan pada waktunya dengan suami yang layak—barulah seseorang patut berundur ke rimba, berhasrat menjalani kehidupan berdisiplin seorang resi. Pelepasan diri bukanlah lari daripada tanggungjawab, melainkan wajar hanya setelah kewajipan ditunaikan.
