उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय 33: धृतराष्ट्र-विदुर संवादः (विदुरनीतिः)

राजा लक्षणसम्पन्नस्त्रैलोक्यस्यापि यो भवेत्‌ | शिष्यस्ते शासिता सोडस्तु धृतराष्ट्र युधिष्ठिर:

rājā lakṣaṇasampannastrailokyasyāpi yo bhavet | śiṣyaste śāsitā soḍastu dhṛtarāṣṭra yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||

Vidura berkata: “Wahai Dhṛtarāṣṭra, sekalipun seorang raja memiliki segala tanda kebesaran dan layak memerintah tiga alam, dia tetap harus menerima disiplin. Yudhiṣṭhira ialah muridmu—seorang yang boleh dibimbing dan ditadbir; maka kendalikan dirimu, dan perintahlah menurut nasihat, bukan menurut keterikatan yang membutakan.”
