Adhyaya 32: Saṃjaya’s Return, Audience with Dhṛtarāṣṭra, and Ethical Admonition

त्रिविधं नरकस्येदं द्वारं नाशनमात्मन: । काम: क्रोधस्तथा लोभस्तस्मादेतत्‌ त्रयं त्यजेत्‌,काम, क्रोध और लोभ--ये आत्माका नाश करनेवाले नरकके तीन दरवाजे हैं; अतः इन तीनोंको त्याग देना चाहिये

trividhaṁ narakasyedaṁ dvāraṁ nāśanam ātmanaḥ | kāmaḥ krodhas tathā lobhas tasmād etat trayaṁ tyajet ||

Vidura menegaskan: “Tiga pintu neraka yang membinasakan diri ialah nafsu, kemarahan, dan ketamakan. Maka hendaklah seseorang meninggalkan ketiga-tiganya.”
