जीमूत एव घर्मान्ति महावातसमीरित: । समायुक्तस्तु कौन्तेयो वासुदेवसहायवान् | तरुणश्न कृती चैव जीर्णावावामुभावषि,ग्रीष्म-ऋतुके अन्तमें प्रचण्ड वायुसे प्रेरित महामेघकी भाँति श्रीकृष्णसहित अर्जुन युद्धके लिये तैयार है। वह अस्त्रोंका विद्वान् और तरुण भी है। इधर हम दोनों वृद्ध हो चले हैं
jīmūta eva gharmānte mahāvātasamīritaḥ | samāyuktas tu kaunteyo vāsudevasahāyavān || taruṇaś ca kṛtī caiva jīrṇāv āvām ubhāv api ||
Bhishma berkata: “Seperti awan besar yang dihambat angin kencang pada penghujung musim panas, demikianlah putera Kunti—Arjuna—telah siap sepenuhnya untuk perang, disokong oleh Vasudeva (Krishna). Dia muda dan berjaya, mahir dalam ilmu senjata; sedangkan kami berdua ini telah pun tua.”
