Bhīṣma’s Appointment as Commander-in-Chief
विदुरस्यापि तद् वाक्यं श्रुतं भीष्मस्यथ चो भयो: । कुन्त्याश्न विपुलप्रज्ञ प्रज्ञा कार्त्स्न्येन ते श्रुता,“विदुरने और भीष्मजीने भी जो बातें कही हैं, उन्हें भी आपने सुना है। विशालबुद्धे ! माता कुन्तीका विचार भी आपने पूर्णरूपसे सुन लिया है
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
vidurasya api tad vākyaṃ śrutaṃ bhīṣmasya atha ca ubhayoḥ |
kuntīyāś ca vipulaprajña prajñā kārtsnyena te śrutā ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Engkau juga telah mendengar kata-kata yang diucapkan oleh Vidura dan oleh Bhīṣma—bahkan oleh kedua-duanya. Wahai insan yang luas pengertiannya, engkau juga telah mendengar sepenuhnya nasihat Kuntī yang dipertimbangkan dengan saksama.
