प्रह्दश् दंशिता योधा: परानीकविदारणा: । तेषां मध्ये ययौ राजा कुन्तीपुत्रो युधिष्ठिर:,हर्षमें भरे हुए और कवच आदिसे सुसज्जित वे समस्त सैनिक शत्रु-सेनाको विदीर्ण करनेका उत्साह रखते थे। कदुन्तीपुत्र राजा युधिष्ठिर समस्त सैनिकोंके बीचमें होकर चले

prahṛṣṭā daṃśitā yodhāḥ parānīkavidāraṇāḥ | teṣāṃ madhye yayau rājā kuntīputro yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: Para pahlawan, bersorak gembira dan lengkap bersenjata, bersemangat untuk membelah susunan tempur musuh. Di tengah-tengah mereka bergerak Raja Yudhiṣṭhira, putera Kuntī—maju di antara bala tenteranya sebagai pusat moral dan kedaulatan, melambangkan tekad berdisiplin, bukan semata-mata keganasan.
