The verse teaches that sacred texts (and sacred duties) should be approached with purity, order, and focused attention: cleanse oneself, dress simply and purely, and honor each item properly with offerings. Ethical discipline is expressed through careful, rule-governed devotion rather than casual or distracted practice.
In Svargārohaṇa Parva, Vaiśampāyana describes a prescribed mode of worship: after completing and arranging the compilations, the learned person should ritually purify himself and then perform a proper pūjā, offering fragrances and garlands to each compilation separately, along with suitable food and other offerings.
