स्त्रीपर्व — नवमोऽध्यायः | Dhṛtarāṣṭra summons the Kuru women; the city departs in collective lamentation
उत्तिष्ठ राजन् कि शेषे मा शुचो भरतर्षभ | एषा वै सर्वसत्त्वानां लोकेश्वर परा गति:,“राजन्! उठिये, क्यों सो रहे हैं? भरतश्रेष्ठ] शोक न कीजिये। लोकनाथ! समस्त प्राणियोंकी यही अन्तिम गति है
uttiṣṭha rājan ki śeṣe mā śuco bharatarṣabha | eṣā vai sarvasattvānāṁ lokeśvara parā gatiḥ ||
“Bangkitlah, wahai Raja—mengapa tuanku berbaring demikian? Jangan bersedih, wahai yang termulia antara kaum Bhārata. Wahai Penguasa dunia, inilah sesungguhnya jalan terakhir bagi segala makhluk bernyawa.”
