Śara-śayyā-sthita-bhīṣma-saṃvāda-prastāvaḥ
The Prelude to Questioning Bhīṣma on the Bed of Arrows
यच्च भूतं भविष्यच्च भवच्च परमसद्युते । तत् सर्वमनुपश्यामि पाणौ फलमिवार्पितम्,परम तेजस्वी पुरुषोत्तम! अब मैं हाथपर रखे हुए फलकी भाँति भूत, भविष्य और वर्तमान तीनों कालोंकी सभी बातें सुस्पष्टरूपसे देख रहा हूँ
yac ca bhūtaṁ bhaviṣyac ca bhavac ca paramasadyute | tat sarvam anupaśyāmi pāṇau phalam ivārpitam, parama tejasvī puruṣottama |
Bhīṣma berkata: “Wahai Yang Maha Bercahaya, wahai insan termulia! Kini aku melihat segala-galanya—masa lalu, masa depan, dan masa kini—dengan jelas, seolah-olah sebiji buah diletakkan di tapak tanganku.”
