युधिष्ठिरस्य राज्याभिषेकः | Yudhiṣṭhira’s Royal Consecration
व्याप्रचर्मोत्तरे शुक्ले सर्वतो भद्र आसने । दृढपादप्रतिष्ठाने हुताशनसमत्विषि
vaiśampāyana uvāca | vyāghracarmottare śukle sarvato-bhadra āsane | dṛḍhapāda-pratiṣṭhāne hutāśana-samatviṣi ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Di atas tempat duduk Sarvatobhadra, beralas kulit harimau dan dilapik kain putih, kukuh pada kaki dan tapaknya, serta bersinar laksana api menyala, Yudhiṣṭhira dan Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī) didudukkan setelah altar disiapkan dengan sempurna atas perintah Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Pendeta bijaksana Dhaumya menegakkan api suci di atas altar dan mempersembahkan oblation menurut aturan dan mantra—menjadikan upacara itu suatu perbuatan dharma: tindakan yang berdisiplin dan disucikan untuk memulihkan tertib selepas bencana.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The passage highlights dharma as disciplined, consecrated action: even royal decisions and transitions are grounded in purity, proper procedure, and reverence for sacred order (Agni, mantra, and the priestly rite).
At Kṛṣṇa’s instruction, the priest Dhaumya prepares a ritual altar and establishes the sacred fire. A Sarvatobhadra seat is arranged with tiger-skin and white cloth, and Yudhiṣṭhira and Draupadī are ceremonially seated while oblations are offered.
