अध्याय ३५१ — उञ्छवृत्ति-व्रतसिद्धेः मानुषस्य परमगतिः

Sūrya–Nāga Dialogue on the Perfected Gleaner-Ascetic

वेदानावर्तयन्‌ साड्रान्‌ भारतार्थाश्व सर्वश: । तमेकमनसं दान्तं युक्ता वयमुपास्महे,वहाँ व्यासजी अंगोंसहित सब वेदों तथा महाभारतके अर्थोंकी आवृत्ति करते और हम सब शिष्योंको पढ़ाते थे एवं हम सब लोग सदा उद्यत रहकर उन एकाग्रचित्त एवं जितेन्द्रिय गुरुकी सेवा करते थे

vedān āvartayan sāṅgān bhāratārthāṁś ca sarvaśaḥ | tam ekamanasaṁ dāntaṁ yuktā vayam upāsmahe ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: Vyāsa melagukan dan mengulang kaji Veda beserta ilmu-ilmu bantuannya, serta menghuraikan dengan pelbagai cara makna Mahābhārata untuk mengajar kami para murid. Kami pula, sentiasa berjaga dan berdisiplin, terus-menerus berkhidmat kepada guru itu—yang teguh bertumpu pada satu tumpuan, mengawal indera, dan mantap dalam tapa.
