Atithi-prāpti and the Brāhmaṇa’s Deliberation on Triadic Dharma (अतिथिप्राप्तिः धर्मत्रयविचारश्च)

Educational Q&A

Properly performed dharmic observances—especially yajña grounded in Vedic guidance and supported by the earth’s produce—create a reciprocal harmony in which the divine powers are pleased and the cosmic order is sustained.

Vaiśaṃpāyana, continuing the Śānti-parvan discourse on dharma, explains that the institution of yajña (together with the Vedas and life-sustaining herbs/produce) was created so that, when rightly practiced on earth, it brings satisfaction to all the deities.
