Śānti-parva Adhyāya 30: Nārada–Parvata Samaya-bhaṅga, Śāpa, and the Marriage of Sukumārī

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical danger of krodha (anger) expressed through harsh speech: a curse uttered in rage can crystallize into mutual intolerance and long-term hostility, undermining dharma and social harmony.

Two individuals, overcome by anger, curse each other vehemently; as a result they become mutually unforbearing (amarṣaṇau), setting the stage for sustained enmity rather than reconciliation.
