Vānaprastha-vṛtti and the Transition toward the Fourth Āśrama (वानप्रस्थवृत्तिः चतुर्थाश्रमोपक्रमश्च)

The verse distinguishes signs of attainment from their consequences: once certain yogic marks have appeared, specific results follow. Among these is the capacity for ‘sṛṣṭi’—a creative, outcome-shaping power—especially connected with the attainment of worldly sovereignty, implying that extraordinary capacities can arise and therefore require ethical restraint.
Vyāsa continues an instructional discourse in the Śānti Parva, telling the listener to hear the fruits that follow the manifestation of earlier-described yogic signs, and he introduces a particular result: after achieving earthly lordship, a yogin may gain a creative power (sṛṣṭi-śakti) within the framework of this teaching.
