Yoga-kṛtya (योककृत्य) — Vyāsa on Sense-Restraint, Obstacles, and Brahman-Realization

अपृथग्धर्मिणो मर्त्या ऋक्‍सामानि यजूंषि च | काम्या इष्टी: पृथग्‌ दृष्टया तपोभिस्तप एव च

apṛthagdharmiṇo martyā ṛk-sāmāni yajūṃṣi ca | kāmyā iṣṭīḥ pṛthag dṛṣṭyā tapobhis tapa eva ca ||

Vyāsa berkata: Pada Zaman Satya, insan yang teguh dalam pemahaman dharma yang tidak-dual (advaita) tidak menganggap Ṛg, Sāma dan Yajur Veda serta korban suci yang didorong oleh keinginan sebagai tujuan yang terpisah dan berdiri sendiri. Melihat semuanya itu berbeza daripada tapa pengetahuan, mereka mengetepikan usaha ritual tersebut dan menumpukan diri semata-mata pada tapa pengetahuan—yang menuju kepada moksha, bukan keuntungan duniawi.
