विघसाशी सदा च स्यात्‌ सदा चैवातिथिव्रत: । श्रद्दधान: सदा च स्याद्‌ देवताद्धविजपूजक:,उसे सदा यज्ञशिष्ट अन्नका भोक्ता, अतिथिसेवाका व्रती, श्रद्धालु तथा देवता और ब्राह्मणोंका पूजक होना चाहिये

Bhīṣma uvāca: vighaśāśī sadā ca syāt sadā caivātithivrataḥ | śraddadhānaḥ sadā ca syād devatā-dvija-pūjakaḥ ||

Bhīṣma berkata: Seseorang hendaklah sentiasa hidup dengan apa yang tinggal selepas persembahan dan pembahagian yang wajar, serta sentiasa berpegang pada nazar memuliakan tetamu. Dia hendaklah sentiasa beriman dan penuh hormat, dan menjadi seorang pemuja—yang menghormati para dewa dan golongan dua-kelahiran (brahmin) dengan sewajarnya.
