Shloka 15

अज्ञान–लोभयोः परस्परहेतुत्वम्

Mutual Causality of Ignorance and Greed

अत्राप्युदाहरन्तीमा गाथा: सत्यवता कृता: । यथा कुमार: सत्यो वै नैव पुण्यो न पापकृत्‌

atrāpy udāharantīmā gāthāḥ satyavatā kṛtāḥ | yathā kumāraḥ satyo vai naiva puṇyo na pāpakṛt ||

Di sini juga, mereka memetik syair-syair yang digubah oleh Satyavān sebagai teladan: sebagaimana seorang anak kecil, kerana bebas daripada dorongan pertikaian dan kebencian, secara semula jadi berpegang pada kebenaran; maka dia tidak dengan sengaja mengumpul pahala, dan tidak pula melakukan dosa. Demikianlah sepatutnya setiap insan yang benar-benar mulia: teguh dalam kebenaran dan tidak digerakkan oleh nafsu permusuhan.
