कपोत-लुब्धकसंवादः — Hunter’s Remorse and Renunciatory Resolve

सम्मुह्यामि विषीदामि धर्मो मे शिथिलीकृत: । उद्यमं नाधिगच्छामि कदाचित्‌ परिसान्त्वयन्‌,आपके मुँहसे यह उपाख्यान सुनकर मैं मोहित एवं विषादग्रस्त हो रहा हूँ। आपने मेरा धर्मविषयक उत्साह शिथिल कर दिया। मैं अपने मनको बारंबार समझा रहा हूँ तो भी अब कदापि इसमें धर्मविषयक उद्यमके लिये उत्साह नहीं पाता हूँ

sammuhyāmi viṣīdāmi dharmo me śithilīkṛtaḥ | udyamaṁ nādhigacchāmi kadācit parisāntvayan |

Yudhiṣṭhira berkata: “Mendengar kisah itu dari mulut tuan, aku menjadi bingung dan tenggelam dalam dukacita. Tekadku terhadap dharma telah menjadi longgar. Walaupun aku berulang kali cuba menenangkan dan meneguhkan diriku, aku tidak lagi, pada bila-bila masa pun, menemukan tenaga untuk berusaha demi dharma.”
