Draupadī’s Exhortation on Rājadharma and Daṇḍa (द्रौपद्याः राजधर्मोपदेशः)
The verse highlights dharmic reassurance: wise elders may fall silent, yet righteous leadership—embodied by Yudhiṣṭhira—has the duty to restore dignity and provide security and comfort to those who have suffered.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the mother-in-law, described as all-knowing and all-seeing, stops speaking; then the focus shifts to Yudhiṣṭhira’s promise or role in ensuring Pāñcālī’s future well-being and comfort.
