छेत्स्याम्यहं तमप्याशु निर्वतो भव लोमश । “मैंने बहुतसे तंतु काट डाले हैं, केवल एक ही डोरी बाकी रख छोड़ी है। उसे भी मैं शीघ्र ही काट डालूँगा; अत: लोमश! तुम शान्त रहो, घबराओ न' ।।

chetsyāmy ahaṃ tam apy āśu nirvato bhava lomaśa | tayoḥ saṃvadator evaṃ tathaivāpannayor dvayoḥ ||

Bhishma berkata: “Aku telah memutuskan banyak helaian; kini tinggal satu tali sahaja. Tali itu pun akan kupotong tanpa berlengah. Maka, wahai Lomasha, tenangkanlah hati—jangan gelisah.” Demikianlah, ketika kedua-duanya berbicara begitu, mereka tetap berada dalam keadaan sengsara yang sama.
