ऋषिसमागमः — युधिष्ठिरस्य शोकवर्णनम्
Sage Assembly and Yudhiṣṭhira’s Articulation of Grief
प्रतिगृह्म ततः पूजां तत्कालसदृशीं तदा । पर्युपासन् यथान्यायं परिवार्य युधिष्ठिरम्
pratigṛhya tataḥ pūjāṃ tatkālasadṛśīṃ tadā | paryupāsan yathānyāyaṃ parivārya yudhiṣṭhiram ||
Kemudian mereka menerima penghormatan yang sesuai dengan waktu itu, lalu menurut adab yang benar duduk rapat di sisi. Mengelilingi Raja Yudhiṣṭhira—yang hatinya ditenggelami dukacita di tebing suci Bhāgīrathī—para resi tetap dekat, menenangkan dan menguatkannya.

Even in the aftermath of catastrophe, dharma expresses itself through yathānyāya conduct—accepting and offering due honors, and providing compassionate presence to one overwhelmed by sorrow. Ethical order is maintained not only by rules but by timely, appropriate support.
After receiving the proper honors, the assembled sages remain seated around King Yudhiṣṭhira on the sacred bank of the Bhāgīrathī. Seeing him grief-stricken, they stay close, encircle him respectfully, and reassure him according to established decorum.
