Duryodhana’s Post-Duel Lament and Instructions (भग्नसक्थस्य विलापः)

भ्रातृभि: समयं कृत्वा क्षान्तवान्‌ धर्मवत्सल: । द्यूतच्छलजितै: शुद्धैर्वनवासो हुपागतः,“धर्मवत्सल युधिष्ठिरने अपने भाइयोंके साथ नियत समयकी प्रतीक्षा करते हुए सारा कष्ट चुपचाप सहन किया था। पाण्डव शुद्धभावसे आपके पास आये थे तो भी उन्हें कपट॒पूर्वक जूएमें हराकर वनवास दिया गया

bhrātṛbhiḥ samayaṃ kṛtvā kṣāntavān dharmavatsalaḥ | dyūtacchalajitaiḥ śuddhair vanavāso hy upāgataḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Setelah membuat perjanjian dengan saudara-saudaranya dan menunggu tempoh yang ditetapkan, Yudhiṣṭhira yang mencintai dharma menanggung kesusahan dengan sabar. Namun mereka yang berhati suci itu telah ditewaskan secara tipu daya melalui helah perjudian, lalu hukuman buangan ke rimba pun menimpa mereka.”
