Duryodhana’s Post-Duel Lament and Instructions (भग्नसक्थस्य विलापः)
पितामहश्न भगवान् कृष्णस्तत्र भविष्यति | सर्वथा ते महाबाहो गान्धार्या: क्रोधनाशनम्
pitāmahaś ca bhagavān kṛṣṇas tatra bhaviṣyati | sarvathā te mahābāho gāndhāryāḥ krodha-nāśanam ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Di sana, Tuhan Kṛṣṇa yang mulia juga akan hadir, bersama sang Pitāmaha (datuk agung). Dalam segala hal, wahai yang berlengan perkasa, baginda akan memadamkan amarah Gandhārī.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even in the aftermath of catastrophic conflict, righteous leadership requires the cooling of wrath and the restoration of moral balance; the presence of the wise and the divine is portrayed as essential for transforming grief-driven anger into restraint and reconciliation.
Vaiśampāyana foretells that Kṛṣṇa (and the revered grandsire, Pitāmaha) will be present at the relevant encounter, and that Kṛṣṇa will ensure Gāndhārī’s anger is quelled—anticipating a tense post-war moment where her grief and indignation must be addressed.
