Pacification of Gāndhārī and Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel at Hāstinapura
Even in a battlefield setting, the leaders’ actions are framed by maṅgala (auspicious, ethically aligned intent): assent is followed by purposeful movement under righteous guidance (here, with Kṛṣṇa), suggesting that strategy and conduct should remain tethered to dharma.
After agreeing (“So be it”), the Pāṇḍavas—together with Sātyaki and accompanied by Kṛṣṇa—leave the camp and go outside, explicitly described as being for maṅgala, i.e., to secure an auspicious or favorable course of action.
