Kurukṣetra–Samantapañcaka Māhātmya: King Kuru’s Ploughing and Indra’s Boon (प्रजापतेरुत्तरवेदिः समन्तपञ्चकं)
चकार गमने बुद्धिं परलोकाय वै तदा । जब वह स्वयं एक पग भी चलनेमें असमर्थ हो गयी, तब उसने परलोकमें जानेका विचार किया
cakāra gamane buddhiṃ paralokāya vai tadā |
Kemudian, apabila dia tidak mampu lagi melangkah walau setapak, dia pun bertekad untuk berangkat ke alam sana—mengalihkan fikirannya daripada perjuangan jasmani kepada perjalanan terakhir melampaui hidup.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
When the body can no longer sustain action, the verse highlights a shift from clinging to physical capability toward accepting the inevitable transition, framing death as a deliberate turning of the mind toward the hereafter.
The narrator states that, at that moment, she became unable to walk even a step and therefore formed the resolve to go to the next world—signaling imminent death or a conscious acceptance of it.
