Vasiṣṭhāpavāha: Sarasvatī’s Diversion and Viśvāmitra’s Curse (वसिष्ठापवाहः)

ददौ कामान्‌ ब्राह्मुणेभ्यो यान्‌ यान्‌ यो मनसेच्छति । शक्तिशाली राजा ययाति जब वहाँ यज्ञ कर रहे थे, उस समय उनकी उत्कृष्ट उदारताको दृष्टिमें रखकर और अपने प्रति उनकी सनातन भक्ति देख सरस्वतीने उस यज्ञमें आये हुए ब्राह्मणोंको, जिसने अपने मनसे जिन-जिन भोगोंको चाहा, वे सभी मनोवांछित भोग प्रदान किये

dadau kāmān brāhmaṇebhyo yān yān yo manasecchati |

Vaiśampāyana berkata: Dengan mempertimbangkan kemurahan hati Raja Yayāti yang luar biasa ketika baginda sedang melaksanakan upacara korban suci, serta melihat kesetiaan bhakti baginda yang kekal, Dewi Sarasvatī mengurniakan kepada para brāhmaṇa yang hadir dalam ritus itu segala kenikmatan yang masing-masing inginkan dalam hati—menganugerahkan semua anugerah yang dihajati.
