Sarasvatī Tīrtha Itinerary — Balarāma’s Pilgrimage
त्रितस्ततो महाराज कूपस्थो मुनिसत्तम: । आर्तनादं ततश्नक्रे तौ तु शुश्रुवतुर्मुनी,महाराज! कुएँमें पहुँचनेपर मुनिश्रेष्ठ त्रितने बड़े जोरसे आर्तनाद किया, जिसे उन दोनों मुनियोंने सुना
tritastato mahārāja kūpastho munisattamaḥ | ārtanādaṃ tataś cakre tau tu śuśruvatur munī ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Maka, wahai raja, resi unggul Trita, setelah sampai ke perigi itu, melaungkan jeritan kesengsaraan yang amat kuat. Seruan pilu itu didengari oleh kedua-dua resi tersebut.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights that seeking help in genuine distress is not a moral failing, and that the righteous—especially sages—are ethically obligated to heed suffering and respond with compassion.
Trita, having come to be in the well, cries out loudly in anguish; his cry is heard by two sages, setting up the next action—whether and how they will respond.
