एकततक्न द्वितश्वैव पृष्ठ: कालयन्‌ पशून्‌ । महाराज! उनमें त्रित मुनि तो प्रसन्नतापूर्वक आगे-आगे चलते थे और एकत तथा द्वित पीछे रहकर पशुओंको हाँकते जाते थे

ekatatakaḥ dvitataś caiva pṛṣṭhaḥ kālayan paśūn | mahārāja, teṣāṃ tritaḥ muniḥ tu prasannatāpūrvakam agre agre calati sma, ekataḥ ca dvitataḥ ca paścāt sthitvā paśūn hāṅkayantaḥ yayuḥ |

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai raja agung! Dalam kalangan mereka, resi Tṛta berjalan di hadapan dengan hati yang tenang dan puas, sedangkan Ekata dan Dvitata berada di belakang, menggiring ternakan ke hadapan.”
