विदुर उवाच आर्या पृथा राजपुत्री नारण्यं गन्तुमर्हति । सुकुमारी च वृद्धा च नित्यं चैव सुखोचिता,विदुर बोले--कुन्तीकुमारो! राजपुत्री आर्या कुन्ती वनमें जाने लायक नहीं हैं। वे कोमल अंगोंवाली और वृद्धा हैं, सदा सुख और आरामके ही योग्य हैं; अतः वे मेरे ही घरमें सत्कारपूर्वक रहेंगी। यह बात तुम सब लोग जान लो। मेरी शुभ कामना है कि तुम वहाँ सर्वथा नीरोग एवं सुखसे रहो
vidura uvāca | āryā pṛthā rājaputrī nāraṇyaṁ gantum arhati | sukumārī ca vṛddhā ca nityaṁ caiva sukhocitā ||
Vidura berkata: “Pṛthā (Kuntī), puteri bangsawan yang mulia, tidak wajar dibawa ke rimba. Tubuhnya halus dan dia juga telah lanjut usia, sentiasa terbiasa dengan kesenangan. Maka biarlah dia tinggal di rumahku sendiri, dimuliakan dan dipelihara dengan baik. Ketahuilah hal ini, wahai kalian semua. Doaku agar kalian hidup di sana dengan kesihatan yang sempurna dan dengan damai.”
