Sabhā Parva, Adhyāya 68 — Pāṇḍavānāṃ Vanavāsa-prasthānaḥ; Duḥśāsana-nindā; Pāṇḍava-pratijñāḥ
याज्ञसेन्या वच:ः श्रुत्वा कृष्णो गह्दरितो5भवत् | त्यक्त्वा शय्या55सनं पदभ्यां कृपालु: कृपयाभ्यगात्
yājñasenyā vacaḥ śrutvā kṛṣṇo gadgadito 'bhavat | tyaktvā śayyāsanaṃ padbhyāṃ kṛpāluḥ kṛpayābhyagāt ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Mendengar kata-kata Yājñasenī (Draupadī), Kṛṣṇa tersentuh hingga sebak. Yang Maha Penyayang, digerakkan oleh belas kasihan, segera bangkit—meninggalkan katil dan tempat duduk—lalu bergegas pergi dengan berjalan kaki. Dalam bingkai etika kisah ini, rayuan Draupadī menjadi ujian dharma: apabila perhimpunan manusia gagal melindungi yang lemah, yang benar wajib menyahut, dan perlindungan Ilahi dipohon melalui ingatan teguh serta penyerahan diri.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Compassion and dharma require an immediate response to injustice, especially when the vulnerable are harmed. The verse also underscores the moral power of sincere appeal and remembrance: when social and legal safeguards collapse, devotion and righteous protection become central to restoring dharma.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇa hears Draupadī’s words and becomes deeply moved. He leaves his resting place and hastens on foot, signaling urgent concern and readiness to protect her amid the unfolding crisis in the Kuru assembly.
