अक्षदेवन-प्रवर्तनम् | Commencement of the Dice Game
अन्धेनेव युगं॑ नद्धं विपर्यस्तं नराधिप । कनीयांसो विवर्धन्ते ज्येष्ठा हीयन्त एव च,राजन! यह युग अंधे विधातासे बँधा हुआ है। इसीलिये इसमें सब बातें उलटी हो रही हैं। छोटे बढ़ रहे हैं और बड़े हीन दशामें गिरते जा रहे हैं
andhen eva yugaṃ naddhaṃ viparyastaṃ narādhipa | kanīyāṃso vivardhante jyeṣṭhā hīyanta eva ca ||
“Wahai raja, zaman ini seakan-akan diikat dan dipimpin oleh takdir yang buta; sebab itu segala-galanya menjadi terbalik. Yang muda dan rendah naik serta makmur, sedangkan yang tua—yang sepatutnya di hadapan—kian merosot.”
